Business Partnership Project
Updated: Aug 19
Sometimes ideas come from the weirdest places, don't you think? Taking a term from the great Oprah, I get these "whispers" in the middle of the night, in the shower, on road trips, just sitting outside, etc.... Where do you do your best thinking?
A few weeks ago, I was listening to Brené Brown's new podcast Unlocking Us (a must listen) in the car on my way home from a doctor appointment and this idea struck me. Since then, I haven't been able to let it go, so I'm going with it.
I want to write a book about business partnerships. I had an epic fail myself but also know of many people who have built successful businesses in this way. I still feel that partnership is the way to go - you can build a business so much faster and its more sustainable (when it works) for each person. But, these partnerships are tricky and it's a known fact that they can get pretty nasty. I don't think it needs to be this way. And, I think the way partnerships are viewed, talked about, and researched are very male dominated.
While I was looking into this topic, I found very few womxn voices. In fact, all of the articles on successful business partnerships highlight caucasian male-ran tech companies. There's so much more to tell here and I know we can build better businesses with partnerships that are set up in a holistic way.
My vision is to write a book that weaves successful partnerships and, like mine, no so successful stories and combine them into an interactive (workbook-like) roadmap for future entrepreneurs.
Will you join me? If you have a partnership story to tell, I'd love to hear it! Please fill out my survey and I'll contact you with more information.
Thank you in advance for being on this journey with me.
